Free Goods, how to apply only once for each customer?

Hi Gurus,

I got a free goods requirement, most of them could be done by the standard functionality. the last step is required to 'apply only once for each customer', I am thinking to use a z table to record it and use a badi implemenatation to check it.

Do you guys have a better solution for this?
